Embracing the Joy of Home Workouts: A Rainy Day Revelation ☔

As it gets colder, wetter and darker here in the UK, going to the gym is much less appealing. The barrier of having to battle the weather can sometimes be too much to overcome, even though I know I’ll enjoy it when I get there . If you’re anything like me then how about trying home workouts instead? Rather than following the ‘norm’ of having to be at a gym for your movement to ‘count’, can you go against the grain and find other ways of moving your body that suit you better?

Shout out to one of my amazing clients who has been working on her headstands. It was one of her goals when we started working together a couple of months ago. As it’s something she really wants to be able to master and finds enjoyable to do, she has found the time in her day to practice on her own outside of our sessions. From building confidence to kick her legs up onto a wall, she can now do a headstand with her legs completely straight and at times not touching the wall at all!

A headstand might not be the first thing that comes into your head when you think of movement but movement comes in so many different forms, in so many different locations. There is no right way of moving, there’s just the right way of moving for you.

If you’d like some movement to follow from the comfort of your own home while also sitting down, I’ve created this 8 minute core-based YouTube video using only a tea towel.

Enjoy!
